Stand in front of a mirror and check these three things.

Shoulders

Does the seam actually sit on your shoulder?

Too low?
Looks baggy.

Sits on your shoulder.
A cleaner, sharper look.

Waist

Does your top have any shape — or just hang off you?

No shape?
Looks oversized.

Follows your shape.
Looks more tailored.

Trousers

Are they sitting where they're supposed to?

Constantly adjusting?
They're too loose.

Here's How the Test Works

No tape measure or fitting room needed. Just a mirror and a few seconds.

Shoulders – the seam should sit on the edge of your shoulder. If it drops down your upper arm, the top is too big.
Waist – the top should follow your shape, not fall straight down with lots of excess fabric. Comfortable doesn't have to mean oversized.
Trousers – they should stay where they sit. If you're pulling them up every time you walk, bend or stand, it's the fit, not you.
